Arise & Walk by Faith

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. Hebrews 11:1, 6

Highly favored woman… I want to give you some Bible verses that bless my life and talk to you about people in the Bible who inspire me, and I hope they inspire you too.  In these moments we need faith, hope, and inspiration, which we receive from the Word of God.

Us, women, need to feel safe, confident. Believing in something makes us feel safe and gives us a feeling of peace and tranquility. We usually believe or trust someone or something; some in money, others in ours jobs, in our possessions, others put their trust their family. We can also say that we put our faith in someone or something. Faith is trust and trust is faith.

It is very easy to believe in God when we have everything under control, when everything is going well, when there are no problems... But what happens when the situation gets out of our control? When it gets out of our hands? Can we believe in Him at all times? In what or who are you believing in? In your strength? In your skills? In what you see in the natural? We must stop putting our trust in the things of the world: earthly things, the promises of others, our family, our work, even in ourselves. We must transfer our total trust to God and rest knowing that our future is secure. We must walk by faith, believing God totally. According to the book of Hebrews, faith is the evidence of what we have not yet seen.

Faith is when you ARISE and begin to place your trust in God, when you act, when you begin to believe in those things that are not yet seen. Sometimes your children or your husband put their security and trust in your faith; that your faith will help them, give them security and save them. Do not get me wrong, you are not the god of your family, but sometimes your family is waiting for a miracle and you must ARISE and believe by faith, begin to walk by faith, inject them with that faith.

Noah (Genesis 6: 6-8,13-14) was a man chosen by God, he was just and good. God instructs him to build a great boat because He was going to send a flood. God begins to test his faith. Flood? It had never rained before! What is that? A boat?

Noah's faith as head of this family, injected the confidence for them to be able to believe with him. They did not know what they were doing, they did not know the magnitude of this project, they did not know what would happen, but if Noah had faith and believed in what God told him, that was enough for them. Let us believe with the faith of Noah; a blind faith, without trying to understand what God is doing. We should not question God, nor try to understand Him... God is to be obeyed. God chose Noah and he made the decision to ARISE, walk by faith, save himself and save his family. He decided to obey, even when nothing around made sense; even when everyone around made fun of him. Let us inject that faith to our loved ones.

Abraham (Genesis 11-25) was born and raised in a pagan place, where false gods were worshiped. God chooses him to serve Him. He tells him to take his family and leave; to leave his land and everything he knew and go to a place that He was going to show him. Let’s be realistic; human beings, by nature are very analytical; we want to reason everything; we need a complete plan ... A, B, C ... As women, we want to feel in control of everything. But Abraham just obeyed, got up and went without knowing exactly where he was going or why.

Abraham's story is very interesting. Abraham is known as the Father of Faith. How do you want to be known? How do you want your family to see you? As someone who analyzes everything and does it in their own strength, or as someone who believes God and makes wise decisions that bring blessings to the family?

God appears to Moses (Exodus) and instructs him to return to Egypt to free His people. The people of Israel should be freed from slavery of more than 400 years. They saw the hand of God through the plagues (which none affected them) and finally, they were delivered by the hand of God, through the great man of God, Moses.

Now they were being persecuted by the Egyptians; And what did they have in front of them? The Red Sea. We have a man of faith facing a great situation, and his people, his family behind him, not necessarily believing; many began to complain. It was a time when his faith was being tested; he could not hesitate, he had to move on because there was a great nation, his family, that depended on the decision he would make: Do I obey God or not. And then comes God's order "extend your hand and divide the sea." What? This made no sense.

Perhaps God is asking you to do something crazy, which makes no sense; It is the moment when you must forget to walk by what you see and walk by faith, not only for you, but also for your family, for your household. God tells you: ARISE; there is a family that needs you to build the ark, get them inside, and save them. ARISE, because your family is waiting for you to make the decision to obey God, blindly; your children will learn to believe the same. ARISE, because your family needs someone to face the enemy to end slavery. ARISE, because your family needs you to walk in faith, extend your arm with the rod and divide the sea so that they are saved from dying.

Pray: Lord, I love you and I want to do Your will. Help me to grow in faith. Help me to ARISE and walk by faith, even when I don’t understand or cannot see the complete picture. Forgive me for sometimes doubting. I want to be an example of faith for my family.   I want to honor and please you with my faith.  Amen
