Psalm 23: He restores my soul
There is an attached handout you can print and fill out if you want to dig deeper.
Hello Ladies, at the time I am writing this, I am doing a devotional during Holy Week on the
23rd Psalm. I am amazed that God always has something new to show us in his word. As I did day 3, I found my thoughts going in a different direction than the author. The verse for this day was Psalm 23:3 “He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.” I wasn’t thinking about how he refreshes and restores us from weariness, challenges, stress, anxiety or a pandemic. I wasn’t thinking about a “vacation” by green pastures and still waters, although that would be nice. I was thinking of spiritual restoration. The bible tells us that we missed the mark Romans 3:23. It tells us that our righteousness is as filthy rags Isaiah 64:6. But through Jesus, we are invited to taste and see that the Lord is good, Psalm 34:8. We see that God doesn’t just save us and call it a day. He pokes, prods and pursues us to make sure we stay on track. Not just because we are his sheep and he loves us, but because he wants us to live out HIS purposes and to bring glory to himself. We just have to offer ourselves up daily and surrender to him. I am visual and love a good graphic organizer to sort out my thoughts. I hope you find this helpful.
I encourage you to look up some verses and dig deeper into how God intentionally shepherds us.
